10 Incenses I Burn on Repeat at Home

If there’s one thing I’m endlessly picky about, it’s incense. I’ve burned my way through cheap incense, overpowering incense, incense that smells lovely in the packet but awful once lit and the kind that gives you a headache after ten minutes. They are the WORST.
I burn incense on The Witching Week every Friday and both my husband and I burn it in several rooms throughout the house. These are the ones I always come back to - the scents that genuinely make my home feel calmer, warmer, cleaner or more spiritual depending on what I am doing that day.
I use incense constantly while working, cleaning, meditating, reading, doing Tarot or just winding down in the evening, so these aren’t casual recommendations. These are the scents I actually repurchase over and over again.
1. Inner Peace by Satya This is one of those incense scents that instantly changes the atmosphere of a room without demanding attention. It’s sweet, soft and comforting, but it never becomes sickly or overpowering. I tend to burn this most when I’m working quietly, writing, meditating or simply trying to create a calm environment around me.
There’s something very still about this scent. It encourages focus without feeling sterile, and it has a gentle warmth that makes a room feel emotionally softer somehow. If I need peace and quiet mentally, this is one I reach for automatically. I also love Mindfulness from the same range. https://amzlink.to/az0ls8m3VE7DM
2. Dehn al Oudh by Nandita
This is a completely different experience altogether - deep, musky, rich and luxurious. Dehn al Oudh has that unmistakable Agarwood warmth that feels expensive and ceremonial. It reminds me of temple incense and beautifully perfumed interiors.
I especially love burning this before guests arrive or while cleaning the house because it leaves the most gorgeous lingering fragrance in the air. It makes everything feel elevated and intentional. It is definitely on the stronger side, though, so if you prefer delicate scents this may not be your everyday incense. For me, it’s perfect when I want the house to feel atmospheric and welcoming. https://amzlink.to/az0geKRcny3J2
3. Nag Champa by Satya An absolute classic for a reason.
If someone asked me what incense to start with, this would always be my answer. It’s timeless. No matter how many other scents I try, I always end up returning to Nag Champa because it simply works in every setting.
People often describe it as floral, but honestly, I’ve never really experienced it that way. To me, it’s earthy, calming, slightly creamy and deeply relaxing. It has this instantly recognisable scent that makes any room feel peaceful and grounded.
I use it for meditation, quiet evenings, spiritual work, reading or whenever I can’t decide what else to burn. It never feels out of place and somehow never gets old. https://amzlink.to/az0Xr0DixAAE2
4. Superhit by Satya Superhit feels like Nag Champa’s softer, sweeter cousin. It has that familiar warm and resinous base, but with creamier vanilla notes and a smoother floral edge that makes it incredibly comforting to burn in the evenings.
This is one of my favourite “background” incenses because it blends into a space so naturally. It creates a cosy atmosphere without dominating the room. There’s something nostalgic about it too - warm, familiar and relaxing in a way that’s hard to describe unless you’ve burned it yourself. https://amzlink.to/az0q2nVoVzqET
5. Dragon's Blood by Ayurvedic
This is one of the most beautiful versions of Dragon’s Blood incense I’ve tried. Rich, resinous, slightly mysterious and incredibly atmospheric.
Some Dragon’s Blood incense can smell harsh or synthetic, but this one feels refined and luxurious. The entire Ayurvedic range is lovely, but this scent in particular stands out to me because it has such depth without becoming overwhelming. https://amzlink.to/az0LaWVMxdU2n
I associate Dragon’s Blood with protection, spiritual work and creating a sacred feeling within a space, and this version captures that perfectly. If you enjoy stronger incense with a premium feel, this is absolutely worth trying. If you don’t like Dragon’s Blood give Meditation a try, or this fabulous multipack with 4 other beautiful fragrances included. https://amzlink.to/az0KJvotAM42M
6. Sandalwood by Mainichi Koh These completely surprised me.
I originally bought these because I wanted to explore more Japanese incense, and they’ve now become one of my regular repurchases. The quality is exceptional, especially for the price, and they seem to last forever even with frequent use.
The scent itself is delicate but still distinctive - clean, smooth sandalwood with a subtle calming warmth. They burn fairly quickly compared to some Indian incense sticks, but the fragrance lingers beautifully afterwards without becoming heavy.
I usually burn one or two in the evening when I want the house to feel peaceful and uncluttered mentally. They’re understated in the best possible way and they’ve made me very curious to explore more from this brand. https://amzlink.to/az0mkD8rvjIJ6

7. Nag Champa Incense Bricks by Aromafume
These incense bricks are brilliant, especially if traditional incense sticks aren’t practical for your living situation.
Because they’re smokeless, they’re ideal for rented homes or spaces where heavy incense smoke might not be welcome. They still fill a room beautifully, just in a cleaner and softer way. I also love that there’s no ash or mess to deal with afterwards.
The fragrance is slightly different from classic Satya Nag Champa, but honestly, it’s gorgeous in its own right - smooth, calming and very refined. They’re noticeable without overwhelming the room, which I really appreciate.
As a bonus, mine came with an extra sample brick, which introduced me to Palo Santo and confirmed that this fragrance definitely isn’t for me, whether in wood or incense brick form. https://amzlink.to/az0qT3mItDhQK

8. Frankincense Incense Bricks by Aromafume These are absolutely divine.
Frankincense has always been one of my favourite spiritual scents and these bricks capture that deep resinous richness perfectly. They’re bold and intense, so I can understand why they wouldn’t suit everyone, but personally I find them beautiful.
I use these most during meditation, prayer, Tarot readings or during any kind of spiritual practice that calls because they instantly create a sacred atmosphere. They feel ancient somehow - like stepping into a mystical, magickal temple.
One of the best things about the Aromafume bricks is how long they last. Each brick gives hours of fragrance without smoke pouring through the room, and the scent stays present without becoming suffocating. They’re genuinely excellent quality. https://amzlink.to/az0JEWq0PVmcQ
9. Spiritual Awareness Gift Set & Starter Kit by Aromafume I think this is one of the best ways to get started with incense bricks if you’re curious about them.
The set includes several different resin-based scents - Frankincense, Myrrh, Benzoin and Copal - along with one of the Aromafume burners, so you can experiment without committing to a huge quantity of any single fragrance.
That matters, because these scents are strong and very individual. Some people will adore Copal and dislike Frankincense, while others will feel the complete opposite. For me, Frankincense is heavenly, while Copal isn’t really my thing at all.
The burner itself is lovely, too. You can never have too many of them because they make using incense bricks effortless and safe and I like them for different rooms around the house. They create such a powerful atmosphere without needing clouds of smoke. https://amzlink.to/az0b4BwcSx8tu
10. Patchouli Forest by Satya My all-time favourite incense.
Nothing else smells quite like this to me. It’s earthy, calming, delicate, strong, comforting and deeply relaxing all at once. I genuinely burn this for every possible occasion because it somehow suits everything.
The scent itself is impossible to describe properly because it feels more like an atmosphere than a fragrance. Warm patchouli, soft woods, a kind of quiet earthiness - it’s beautiful.
I was told by a lovely incense seller in Glastonbury that these are longer be in production, which devastated me slightly. I don’t think I’ve bought enough to last the rest of my life, but I have tried! There are still some floating around online, but if they truly disappear, I will never stop mourning them. https://amzlink.to/az0QD47cofOmv
Final Thoughts Incense is such a personal thing. A scent one person finds comforting or intriguing might be completely overwhelming to someone else, and part of the fun is figuring out which fragrances resonate with you and your space.
Over time, I’ve realised I tend to divide incense into moods:
calming and comforting everyday scents
deep spiritual scents
house-cleansing scents
scents for meditation and ritual work
These ten are the ones that have stayed with me through all of these moods. Some are soft and subtle, others are bold and temple-like, but every single one has earned a permanent place in my home.
